Since 2010, the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology has hosted the annual Perlman Symposium on Antibiotic Discovery & Development. This event is made possible by a generous donation from Kato Perlman in honor of her late husband David Perlman. David Perlman was a Madison, WI native who served as the Dean of the School of Pharmacy from 1968-75. He published nearly 300 scientific and 75 non-scientific publications, and held 28 U.S. patents.

General Registration for the 2026 Perlman Symposium is open from March 1 – April 30. We offer virtual and in-person registration options.

This year’s program features 4 excellent speakers, two poster sessions, lightning talks from trainees, and networking opportunities.

If you enjoy the Symposium and want to support other MMI events or our graduate program, please make a donation.
